Back in 2008, there was a Facebook farm-simulation game called Farmville. Since its inception, it garnered a massive loyal following. In fact, the company that created the game actually boasted that it reached millions of players over the course of 2 years.
I think part of the success of the game was that it was fun and you get to have your own farm. It is up to you to cultivate it and make it truly your own.
Well, there is actually a similar game in the Nintendo Gameboy advance. The Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance is a little bit similar to Farmville, only it is much more extensive.
The story revolves an unnamed farmer boy. The farmer boy went to Mineral Town, a small town known for its massive farm. That farm was tended by an old man. The boy was ecstatic to know more about farming, so he asked his parents if he could stay with the old man for a few weeks. His parents agreed and the boy, along with the old man, cultivated the farm for the coming weeks.
When it was time for the young farmer boy to leave, he continued to communicate with the old man by sending him letters; to which, the old man promptly replies. After 2 years, the boy noticed that the old man hasn’t sent any letters to him.
So, the farmer boy went to Mineral Town only to find out that the old man actually has died. To pay his respects for teaching him how to farm, the boy tended the farm and thus, the Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance’s plot.
The Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance is a social game where you interact with different people while also tending the farm. The game is complete with all the usual elements you commonly see on a farm: farm animals, tools, cooking, and shipping.
You, as the player, will cultivate and at the same time, converse with people around you. The more you build up relationship with these people, the more people will buy from your produce.
To help you cultivate the farm, there are a handful of tools at your disposal. You can use an axe, a hammer, a watering can, a sickle, and a hoe. You can water the land before planting the seeds of vegetables you want to sell.
After some time that your vegetables are ripe and ready to harvest, you can then ship it to the town and other nearby cities as well. As previously mentioned, when you build a great relationship with the people, you will sell more produce for more money.
The Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance is an immersive farm-simulation game and it is truly one of the most enjoyable games out there.
